    1.) 2016-17 university parking permits now available

    All parking permits need to be replaced by Aug. 22. Parking permit are now on sale. Please visit www.louisville.edu/parking and click “Buy Permit.” Expanded Transportation Options designed to save you money and hassle while reducing traffic and pollution are available to UofL employees and students: Cardinal Directions is a brand new UofL trip-finder app to help you discover new ways to get around and to set up carpools (special permits available); Ride the TARC bus system free with UofL ID; CarShare and BikeShare programs now serve both HSC and Belknap campuses; Free Guaranteed Ride Home program; Earn-A-Bike Program: Use alternative transportation for the next two years and get $400

    2.) Time left to apply to the MSc in Clinical Investigation Sciences for Fall 2016

    The School of Public Health and Information Sciences is accepting applications
    to the Master of Science in Clinical Investigation Sciences through Aug. 1
    for the 2016-17 academic year. This is the ideal program for medical residents
    and fellows interested in clinical investigation.

    3.) College of Education students in Peru

    With the goal of learning about the education system in Peru and its schools, eight students are traveling to Peru July 1. They will have extensive academic work with local professionals, and those in the elementary education program will be working with two schools in Lima. The group will also visit Cusco, and explore Machu Picchu. Follow their blog.

    4.) Danube River Cruise available for UofL alumni and friends

    Sail the Danube River with UofL Alumni and friends on the newest river boat, Uniworld’s SS Maria Theresa, from Budapest, Hungary to Passau, Germany. Stops include Bratislava and the Austrian cities of Vienna, Melk, and Salsburg. A post-cruise tour to Prague is also offered.     5.) iTechXpress Retail Store to close, online sales continue 

    UofL’s campus bookstore partner Follett Higher Education will now offer technology merchandise and digital accessories at the Swain Student Activities Center. The MITC lower level location of the iTechXpress technology store will close for retail business at 5 p.m., July 8. Until this time, remaining merchandise at the MITC location will be sold at a 30% discount. Software and computers will remain available for purchase through IT’s online store at louisville.edu/it/itechxpress for everyone in the UofL community, including departmental purchases – personal credit card or speedtype sales only. Beginning July 11, the pick-up location for all print production materials will move across the hall to the Print Production Center in MITC 11.

    6.) iTechConnect to relocate, 1:1 assistance continues 

    IT’s current location for the iTechConnect one-on-one technology help inside the iTechXpress technology store on the lower level of MITC will close at 5 p.m., July 8. iTechConnect will be relocating a few steps away inside of the iTechZone/REACH computer lab also on the lower level of MITC. Assistance at this new location will begin on July 11 during its normal 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours.

    7.) School of Medicine Basic, Bridge, and Collaborative Grant Programs deadline extended 

    July 5

    The School of Medicine Research Committee administers the Basic, Bridge, and Collaborative Matching Grant programs to provide financial support to School of Medicine faculty. These awards have been increased up to $25K for Basic, $40K for Bridge, and $50K for Collaborative with $25K in matched funds. The submission deadline has been extended to July 5, 2016.
