    Campus-Submitted Announcements

    Miscellaneous

1.) Cultural Center open for support

    Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Cultural Center would like to express support for our community in reaction to events that have occurred last week. If you are in the Louisville area and are in need of a listening ear or support, know that you have “human” resources at UofL. Processing emotions alone can be consuming and taxing. Even if you simply want to be in the presence of someone while you process in silence, you have a place to do so here in the Cultural Center.

    Additional Information: Tierney Bates, 852-0229

2.) Funding opportunity available for product development

    August 8 pre-application deadline

Do you have an idea for a product that could improve patient care or enhance human health? The UofL ExCITE hub offers proof-of-concept grants for research commercialization. Grants are for a maximum of $200,000 per project. All UofL faculty, staff, trainees and students are eligible to apply. Pre-applications are required by Aug. 8. Details and application forms can be found on our website. Stay tuned for announcements for upcoming information sessions on the Belknap and HSC campuses.

6.) Green Tip: What’s better than a UofL Parking Permit?

Instead of sinking another $280-$590 into renewing a parking permit, why not try a better way that cuts spending, sedentariness and emissions? Try these commute options: Earn-A-Bike: Give up your permit and get a $400 bike voucher (apply by Aug. 10); Ride any TARC bus free with UofL ID; Carpool: Find and offer rides with Cardinal Directions; Borrow wheels when you need them with UofL Bike-Share (free daily check-outs) or UofL Car-Share.
