    UofL’s Rauch Planetarium is participating in the 2017 Cultural Pass, presented by Churchill Downs in partnership with Metro Louisville, Arts and Cultural Alliance, Louisville Free Public Library and the Fund for the Arts. Pass holders can come to any of the Planetarium’s regularly scheduled public shows

    UofL head swimming coach Arthur Albiero is one of four coaches leading the women’s USA Swimming World Championship team in Budapest. The 17th FINA World Championships run through July 30. There are 21 women and 24 men representing the U.S. at the meet.

    North Information Center visitor lot to close for special events

    July 20, 21, 26 and 27

    The visitor lot located at the North Information Center will be closed for special events during the four dates listed above. Additional parking options on these dates will be to purchase a $5 temporary parking permit from the parking website or to utilize any pay facility on campus, Floyd Street garage or the 4th & Cardinal lot.

    Microsoft Campus Agreement enrollment deadline July 28

    Enroll in the Microsoft Campus Agreement (MCA) by Friday, July 28, to ensure departmental software and computers are licensed for 12 months through July 31, 2018.  MCA provides access to Microsoft Windows, Office, free online Microsoft training, and Office Home Use program for employees whose departments participate. The rate for fiscal year 2017-18 is $84 per full-time employee.

    Retirement Reception for Keith Inman, VP for University Advancement

    The university community is invited to attend and wish Keith well in his retirement. Keith has served as Vice President for University Advancement since November 2006. A short program will begin at 5 p.m. 

     

    Poster session of summer undergraduate research

    August 4, noon to 3 p.m. Kosair Charities CTRB Lobby, HSC 
    Undergraduate students will present the results from their 10-week summer research experience. Participants in the Cancer Education R25, IMPACT REU, KBRIN, Physiology Cardiovascular, SROP, and
    KY-WV LSAMP will present.

    Dept. of Medicine releases new 7/1/17 PCFs and additional pages procedures

    July 18
    Following up on the new 7/1/17 version of the Proposal Clearance Form, the Department of Medicine has released revised versions of its PCF and Additional Signatures page, and PCF with Additional Signatures Page and Clinical Attachment. Also, step-by-step procedures for adding Additional Signatures Pages to these PCF documents are included as well. They can be found online

    Join one of three new Faculty Learning Communities

    The Teaching Innovation Learning Lab (TILL) is pleased to offer three new faculty learning communities (FLCs): Embracing Active Learning Spaces and Pedagogies, Exploration of Flipped Classrooms and Adaptive Learning, and Fostering Innovation and Creativity in the Classroom. Each yearlong FLC brings together a cohort of cross-disciplinary faculty to investigate a unique topic. The deadline to apply is Friday, August 25.
