In a free, public lecture March 8, UofL associate professor Thomas Tretter will explain how the rover is helping NASA’s scientists answer the “did life once exist on Mars?” question and what might happen next in the search for life beyond Earth.

Tretter, who also directs the Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium, will use the planetarium’s technology to lead a virtual mission to Mars and explain what the car-sized rover has been doing since it landed on Mars seven months ago.

The 7 p.m. talk will be at the planetarium, Belknap Campus. The lecture is suitable for all ages.

People who attend the lecture can stay for the planetarium’s 8 p.m. show, Skies Over Louisville, and get a $1 discount off the show’s regular admission price of $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under, UofL affiliates, and seniors age 65 and over.
