UofL planetarium to host Mardi Gras party March 2

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Families who want to celebrate Mardi Gras can get their fill of bead necklaces and face masks at a March 2 event at the University of Louisville.

    A Mardi Gras party at the Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium will run 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and feature music from the UofL Steel Drum Band, giveaways, kid-friendly activities and several showings of Perfect Little Planet, a tour of the solar system geared to youngsters.

    Planetarium officials hope to make the Mardis Gras party an annual event.
