PINK, the student-organized fundraiser for the LGBT Center, marks its 20th anniversary this year.

PINK is turning 20 this year – and the annual student-produced drag and variety show is bringing back some old friends to help celebrate the milestone.

The March 31 event begins at 8 p.m. in the Student Activities Center, Multipurpose Room. Performers will include current students as well as past performers.

“This year we are celebrating PINK’s 20th anniversary so it will be an extra special night,” said Brian Buford, executive director of the LGBT Center. “Some of the performers weren’t even born when the first PINK was held and 20 years is such a testament to the universal appeal and importance of drag to the LGBTQ community.”

PINK is the longest-running, student-organized fundraiser at UofL. The event provides an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and the broader community to celebrate the rich culture and diversity of UofL’s LGBTQ community.

Tickets are $5 for students with ID and $10-20 for general admission on a sliding scale. The event is a fundraiser so the guests decide what amounts to pay for tickets. Attendees are also encouraged to bring cash to tip performers.

Tickets available at the door but advance tickets may be purchased 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 29-31 in the Student Activities Center.

Proceeds benefit students served by the LGBT Center.
