“The Power of Ideas: Louisville’s Grawemeyer Awards,” is scheduled to premiere May 12 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. The 30-minute program will be shown again May 15 at 7 p.m. ET and May 22 at 2:30 p.m. ET, KET officials said.
The show, hosted by Allan Dittmer, executive director of the Grawemeyer Awards, features interviews with current winners of the $100,000 prizes in music composition, world order, psychology, education and religion and the faculty members who direct each award.
UofL’s Office of Communications and Marketing produced the program on campus in March and April.
All five 2014 Grawemeyer Award recipients – Djuro Zivkovic, music; Jacques Hymans, world order; Antonio Damasio, psychology; Diane Ravitch, education; and Tanya Luhrmann, religion – gave public talks in Louisville last month on their award-winning ideas.
KET KY, or KET 3, is Channel 192 on Time Warner Cable in Louisville. Time Warner also carries KET KY in Lexington, Northern Kentucky and Bowling Green, while several other cable companies carry it in Frankfort, Paducah and elsewhere in Kentucky.
AT&T U-Verse does not carry KET KY, but people who receive over-the-air television signals with an HDTV antenna can pick up the channel.
