The 28th Annual Crawfish Boil returns 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19 at the Red Barn.
The theme for this year’s boil is “Boil on Bourbon Street.”
Crawfish with lemon, onion, potatoes, corn on the cob, polish sausage and spices will be served. One side dish is red beans and rice.
For $5, attendees can eat all the crawfish they want.
And there should be plenty to go around. Organizers have ordered about 650 pounds of crawfish to feed the hungry crowd.
The event, which is held the same weekend as Thunder Over Louisville, is expected to draw hundreds of students, employees and alumni. .
George Howe, student affairs’ director of special programs and development, said the Crawfish Boil is “one of the biggest traditions, next to basketball at UofL.”
The event is sponsored by the Red Barn Alumni Association and Student Activities Board.
Proceeds from the event go to Red Barn scholarships and programs through the Red Barn Alumni Association.
