Pamoukaghlian will lead discussions after the 7 p.m. Oct. 10 screening of the 2013 thriller “Monster,” which she produced, and the 7 p.m. Oct. 11 screening of the 2012 documentary “Raul,” which she directed; those events will be at the Muhammad Ali Center, 144 N. Sixth St. She is the head of Nektar Films and creator of The Wander Life travel blog.
The 21th annual festival offers free, multiple screenings of 10 films in Spanish with English subtitles. Locations will be Ekstrom Library’s Chao Auditorium, 102 Strickler Hall or Swain Student Activities Center’s Floyd Theater on UofL’s Belknap Campus or downtown at the Muhammad Ali Center. This year’s offerings are from Uruguay, Venezuela, Paraguay, Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
The Spanish section of UofL’s classical and modern languages department organizes the film festival in conjunction with the Spanish language newspaper Al Dia en America.
