At the event, fraternities and sororities used the canned goods they’d collected to build something. Groups are recognized for most cans collected and best structure.
This year’s event showcased such structures as a replica of Churchill Downs, a turkey, the city of Louisville’s fleur-de-lis; and a UofL college student with a dog. The winning design, created by Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, was a train and track circling Belknap Campus. SAE was also recognized for collecting the most cans.
The groups raised more than 3,400 canned goods for the Dare to Care Food Bank. The food will help feed families in the Louisville area.
