Ramsey, Director of Admissions Jenny Sawyer, Alumni Association staff and others traveled more than 2,000 miles — literally from Pikeville to Paducah — with the principal goal of convincing Kentucky’s best high school students to visit and, hopefully, attend UofL.
“It’s always an exhausting but exhilarating experience” Ramsey said. “Talking to high school students about the improved academic and campus life opportunities we offer at UofL is extremely rewarding.”
The 2013 Fall Outreach wrapped up at the new McCracken County High School near Paducah. More than 800 juniors and seniors watched a video, listened to Ramsey and Sawyer speak and asked questions of two current UofL juniors, Luke Guhy and Ruthie Wooten, both of whom are from Western Kentucky. Ramsey also visited a dozen high schools and Owensboro Community and Technical College (where he taught a class) during outreach.
