In all, 882 patients from East Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee came through the 80-chair dental clinic set up at Pike County Central High School.
UofL helped provide 974 extractions, 348 restorations, 164 cleanings, 53 relines and repairs and 21 exams. The value of those services was $339,494.
It is a privilege to provide care to the people who come to the RAM clinics, said fourth-year dental student Caroline Curtis. She has participated in seven of the clinics.
Some medical students and faculty members also provided screenings for cholesterol, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
