LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Author Iyanla Vanzant, founder and executive director of Inner Visions International and the Inner Visions Institute for Spiritual Development, will speak Nov. 1 at the University of Louisville. Her free, public talk will be at 7 p.m. in Bigelow Hall, Miller Information Technology Center, Belknap Campus.
Vanzant has written 15 books, including five New York Times bestsellers. Her 2010 book, “Peace from Broken Pieces: How to Get Through What You’re Going Through,” recounts the events and spiritual lessons she learned from a decade in her life that included a meteoric rise as a TV celebrity on “Oprah,” her own TV show experience, dissolution of her marriage and her daughter’s 15 months of illness and death on Christmas day.
She started Inner Visions International in 1998. The institute offers classes, workshops and relationship-building tools designed to facilitate and support personal development and spiritual evolution.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and International Affairs sponsors Vanzant’s talk as part of its speaker series. After the talk, Vanzant will sign books.
