LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville Board of Trustees today met on Shelby Campus for its annual retreat and to hear a progress report on the university’s key goals and milestones.

UofL President James Ramsey gave board members an update on how the university is doing in areas such as graduation rates, alumni giving, degrees awarded and community engagement. After hearing the presentation, board members gave Ramsey a positive evaluation and approved a 25 percent contribution to his retirement as outlined in his UofL Foundation contract extension from December 2011.

“It’s been a good year for the president and his team,” said Board of Trustee Chairman Frank Minnifield. “The university’s progress in all areas has been remarkable.”

During the board retreat, participants toured Shelby Campus and celebrated the official opening of the 600 North Hurstbourne Building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The 125,000 square foot building is a joint venture between the UofL Foundation and NTS Development.

In other business, the board approved four new degree programs and projects to replace storm-damaged roofs on six Belknap Campus buildings.
