LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Even as fine arts professors encourage students to push their creativity and technical abilities, a new Cressman Center for Visual Arts exhibition shows that these University of Louisville teachers also continue to produce their own artwork.
Recent work by 18 fine arts faculty members will go on display Jan. 17-March 8 in the 100 E. Main St. gallery.
The free, public “2014 Hite Art Institute Faculty Exhibition” will open with a 6 p.m.-8 p.m. reception Jan. 17. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday–Friday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, with the gallery remaining open until 9 p.m. during the First Friday Trolley Hop events each month.
Media represented include painting, photography, digital video, sculpture, glass, textiles, mixed media and installations.
The show includes the work of Moon-he Baik, JP Begley, Todd Burns, Mary Carothers, Ying Kit Chan, Mitch Eckert, Leslie Friesen, Lida Gordon, James Grubola, Barbara Hanger, Scott Massey, Gabrielle Mayer, Philip Miller, Peter Morrin, Mark Priest, Che Rhodes, Steven Skaggs and John Whitesell.
