LOUISVILLE, Ky. – PINK, an annual drag and variety show benefiting UofL’s LGBT Center, returns April 1.
The student-produced event begins at 8 p.m. in the Student Activities Center. Tickets are $5 for students with ID and $10 for faculty, staff and community members, and can be purchased at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased 11 a.m.-2 p.m. March 30-April 1 in the Student Activities Center.
Proceeds benefit programs for students served by the LGBT Center. Performers in this year’s show will include students, staff, alumni and professional performers.
In addition to providing entertainment, PINK is an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and the broader community to celebrate the rich culture and diversity of UofL’s LGBTQ community. Now in its 19th year, PINK holds the record as the longest running student-organized fundraiser on campus.
“Drag is such a rich tradition and celebration in the LGBT community, but it’s often performed in spaces that aren’t accessible to students. This event gives our students a chance to experience drag and to learn about the artistry and creativity that go into drag from seasoned performers from our community,” said Brian Buford, director of the LGBT Center.
