4.) HR Workshop: Get back to the land with sustainable gardening
April 21, 3 to 4 p.m., Cultural Center Garden
Earth Day is the perfect time to get back to the land! Justin Mog has been an organic gardener for decades and will share some of the basics about how to start and maintain a sustainable garden so that you can grow your own fresh, local food – whether it’s in pots on your porch, in your backyard or in a community garden. This session will be a hands-on workshop and participants are encouraged to dress for outdoor garden work.

9.) Excursion trip to Cuba deadline extended
June 12 Department of Urban and Public Affairs
Price varies; discount for UofL travelers
The Cuba Excursion Trip is open to faculty, staff, students and non-affiliated professionals. The deadline for $200 deposits has been extended to May 3. The original estimate was $1,985 for Cuban hotels, buses and daily breakfast. Now it may fall to $1,695 for UofL travelers if the bus fills up with professional architects, planners and designers from outside of UofL. We are charging folks outside of UofL $2,500.

10.) Donation drive for Healing Place continues through April 30
#4 Administrative Annex Bldg. (Belknap) & 120 Instructional Bldg. (HSC)
The UofL Women’s Center Donation Drive for the Healing Place (Women’s & Children’s campus) at 15th & Hill continues through April 30. The Healing Place is a residential treatment facility for women. Toiletry items can be dropped off at both the Women’s Center locations at Belknap (#4 Administrative Annex Bldg.) near Grawemeyer Hall and at the HSC location (#120 Instructional Bldg.), Monday through Friday.
