DID YOU KNOW?
The original medical school building (opened in 1838) was destroyed by fire on New Year’s Eve, 1856. It was rebuilt between 1857 and 1863 on the foundation of the original building. The 2015 Student Awards are open to all UofL students and Recognized Student Organizations. Awards include Outstanding Student Employee and Outstanding Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate and Professional Students. Nominations are being accepted and can be made by faculty, staff and students. Nomination deadline is March 1 at 5 p.m. The awards will be presented at the 16th Annual Student Awards, April 14, 7 p.m. in the SAC Multipurpose Room.

7.) JGBCC announces Molecular Targets CoBRE Pilot Project Funding
The James Graham Brown Cancer Center announces Cycle 3 of the Molecular Targets CoBRE Pilot Project Program. The program objective is to fund early-stage research projects aimed at identification of new cancer drug targets and development of novel preclinical agents with an emphasis on translational studies with a high potential for advancement to clinical studies. Applications are due in two parts; the first is a one-page pre-proposal due by March 11. The RFP is available from Diane Konzen.

8.) Green Tip: A simple way to cut paper use in half
The best way to reduce our environmental impact and save money isn’t by changing what we consume, but reducing how much we waste. If you must print, remember that a blank side of paper is a waste. Cut paper use in half by printing or copying on both sides. This option is available on many campus machines and can be set as the default or selected for individual print jobs. A manual option is printing odd pages and then using the bypass feeder for even pages (or for single-sided scrap paper).

A contributing editor of “Artforum,” he is the author of “Art—A Sex Book” (co-written with John Waters); “Foul Mouth, No Biggie,” as well as “Under the Sign of [sic]: Sturtevant’s Volte-Face” and “Art & Culture.” Kim is associate professor of modern Art. He is the author of “Painted Men in Britain, 1868-1918: Royal Academicians and Masculinities.”
