4.) Green Tip: Make a resolution to eat less meat
Did you know that in today’s industrial food system, a meat-centered diet requires 19 times as much land and 13 times as much water as a plant-based diet? Or that vegetarian men on average have only a 4 percent risk of death from heart attack vs. 50 percent risk on meat-based diets? This year resolve to choose meatless options that are easier on you and the planet. 5.) Women’s Center seeking students for event, program planning committees
The Women’s Center is accepting students on our student-led event and program planning committees. This is a rare opportunity for rising leaders to learn organizational and leadership skills while providing enrichment and professional development opportunities to fellow students. 6.) Applications due Jan. 20 for i2a SUN Grants
As a reminder, the seventh cycle of SUN Grant applications are due to the respective unit leadership committee by Jan. 20. For the 2015 SUN Grant cycle, the i2a Steering Committee will award up to $4,000 for successful proposals that support the sustained integration of i2a concepts and outcomes at the department, program and/or unit level.

7.) New PeopleSoft naming convention for sponsored projects implemented
As of Jan. 1, Clinical Contracts Division (CCD) and Office of Industry Engagement (OIE)—formerly combined as Office of Industry Contracts—have retired the use of the “OIC” prefixes (OICB, OICN, OICP, IOIC) when creating new sponsored projects in PeopleSoft. CCD is now using the prefixes CCDB, CCDN, CCDP, ICCD. OIE is now using the prefixes OIEB, OIEN, OIEP, IOIE. Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) continues to use the prefixes OGMB, OGMN, OGMP, IOGM.

8.) Registration open for Project Management Certificate program
Earn your project management certificate from UofL Professional Development. This two-seminar program is based on the processes and knowledge areas in the Project Management Institute’s “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge.” A limited number of spaces in the first seminar are available at a 25 percent discount for UofL employees.
