When UofL takes on the University of California Irvine in the men’s NCAA college basketball tournament on Friday, it won’t be the first time the two universities have been linked. This year’s Grawemeyer Award for Psychology winner is James McGaugh, a UCI brain scientist who found the link between emotions and memory.

As co-founder of Harvard University’s LGBT Advocacy for Faculty & Staff, guest facilitator Robyn Ochs understands institutional climate. In this seminar, Robyn will facilitate a discussion about institutional climate for LGBT people within health professional schools based on recently published recommendations. Participants will explore how they can play powerful roles in creating positive, welcoming environments for LGBT students, staff and faculty at UofL. Audience: HSC faculty and staff.

4.) Beyond binaries: identity and sexuality

This program explores the landscape of sexuality and how we map sexual orientation. In this workshop we will create a safe environment to explore different experiences of identity; the interplay between gender and sexuality; the complexities of attraction and more. Robyn Ochs is an expert in group facilitation, making sure that everyone feels welcome, safe and respected in these discussions and creating fun learning experiences. Audience: HSC students.
