Readers and writers will convene for the 8th Annual Kentucky Women’s Book Festival on Saturday in the Ekstrom Library. 4.) Expanded shuttle route starts May 29 on HSC
Beginning May 29
Effective May 29, University Parking and Transportation will begin operating an expanded shuttle route on the Health Science Campus to include Nucleus and the Jewish Hospital Garage on Muhammad Ali Blvd. The new stops will add 5 minutes to the current route time. A map of the new shuttle route can be found at this link.

6.) Geriatrics accepting nominations for Gold Standard Award
Do you know someone age 85 or older, making the most of their later years, continuing to love life and, despite constraints, continuing to engage? UofL Geriatrics is accepting nominations for an individual and a couple for the Gold Standard Award for Optimal Aging. Nominations may be made online here. 7.) 2014-15 Paul Weber Award information sessions scheduled

Register to attend an informal information session to learn more about the application process and submission timeline for the 2014-2015 Paul Weber Award for Department Excellence in Teaching. The award seeks to foster and sustain a university-wide culture of teaching excellence by recognizing departments that demonstrate best practices in teaching and learning. 8.) Space engineering camp offered for grades 7 to 9
June 16 to 20, Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium
$180 UofL affiliates/$150 family members
The planetarium’s Space Engineering Camp grades 7 to 9 is just the thing to keep kids engaged in learning. Hands-on activities such as building constellations, designing a space outpost, having solar car races, making rockets and using probes and other technology make this an exciting camp for teenagers.

11.) Pediatric Grand Rounds presents Dr. Kenneth R. Cooke

13.) Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health presents uterine fibroids discussion

Charles E. Miller, MD, will present Minimally Invasive Treatment of Uterine Fibroids. Dr. Miller is the founder, president and medical director of Charles E. Miller, MD, & Associates–Specialists in Reproductive Health. He will discuss differences between GnRH agonist and GnRH antagonist. Dr. Miller will explain the technique of Magnetic Resonance-Guided Focused Ultrasound Surgery and also the risks of Uterine Artery Embolization on ovarian reserve.
