1.) Gray Street: It’s strawberry season!
Thursdays through Oct. 29, rain or shine, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 400 block of East Gray Street
Some items available today will include: Strawberries, asparagus, onions, tomatoes, chicken, beef, pork, turkey, eggs, whole-grain bread, sourdough beer pretzel baguettes, cranberry orange granola, blueberry lemon bread, local honey, caramel granola cookies, strawberry cabernet jam, apple roses, maple syrup, strawberry orange jam, dried apples, frozen blueberries, apple butter, cherry turnovers. Lunch trucks: Pollo (gourmet chicken) and Jam Pan (jerk pork and chicken).

2.) Sign up now for 2015 Football Camps
Various dates in June, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Trager Center, 2770 S Floyd St.
$75 to $175; UofL employees get 50% discount on junior camps only
We are offering youth Football Camps for students entering 1st – 4th grade on June 17, and for students entering 5th – 8th grades on June 18-19. UL employees get 50% off registration for these junior camps. (Contact Vicky at vicky@gocards.com for code) We have a Senior-only camp on June 6 and June 13, and our regular High School Camp for those entering 9th – 12th grades on June 14-16. Prices are $175 overnight, $125 commuter and single day for $75.

3.) Final week to sign up for the Fifth annual Open Walls exhibit
Exhibit June 4-26, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Photographic Archives gallery, Ekstrom Library lower level
Registration due May 28, 5 p.m.; opening reception June 4 at noon
Registration is still open for the 2015 Open Walls exhibit of artwork by UofL faculty and staff, scheduled for June 4 to 26 in the Photographic Archives gallery in the lower level of Ekstrom Library. The exhibit, which is in its fifth year, is an opportunity for faculty and staff who are not professional or exhibited artists to share their work. All media (i.e., paintings, photographs, woodworking, mixed media, fiber arts, jewelry, crafts) is accepted. Click on these links for the guidelines and the registration form. An opening reception has been scheduled for June 4 at noon.

5.) Ekstrom Library’s east entrance closed for renovations
The transformation of Ekstrom Library’s first floor east is underway and will continue throughout the summer. To accommodate demolition, Ekstrom’s east/quad entrance will be closed until further notice. Please enter the building via the west/3rd Street entrance.

6.) Call for poster judges and symposium volunteers

The 2nd Midwest Membrane Trafficking and Signaling Symposium will take place in CTRB on July 24. We are seeking volunteers for poster judges, as well as people who would like to volunteer with other symposium aspects (managing a table, assisting the poster setup, cleaning up lunch etc.).

Please join us Friday as Dr. Shawn Redding one of our Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellows presents, Endometriosis and Infertility. He will review the pathophysiology of endometriosis and its role in causing infertility and evidence for genetics of endometriosis and discuss the role of surgical management of endometriosis in assisted reproduction.

Lindsey Whiteman, MD, UofL Sports Medicine Fellow, presents Happy Feet. Attendees will learn how to diagnose and treat common injuries of the foot; expand your knowledge of physical exam skills and specific tests; learn when to order imaging and what they are looking for. She will be presenting “Acute Abdominal Pain in Children–US, CT, and MRI.”
