Reminder to UofL faculty and staff that the university will close at noon Wednesday, Nov. 27. In addition, the university will close for the full day Dec. 24, prior to Winter Break. All employees are entitled to one half day of supervisor-approved leave on Nov. 27 and a full day of supervisor-approved leave on Dec. 24.
6.) Green Tip: Put more green in your holidays
The holidays can be hard on your wallet and our planet. Save money, resources and the environment this season with a few simple steps. Don’t make your office or lab work when you leave for the holidays. Turn down thermostats, power down computers and unplug chargers, printers and equipment. Serve local, seasonal foods and consider low-impact, non-material gifts like memberships, tickets to local performing arts, CSA subscriptions or skill-building classes like UofL’s Lifelong Learning offerings.
Additional Information: Visit here for more “green” holiday tips.
7.) Deadline extended: Provost’s Awards for Exemplary Advising nominations
The deadline to submit a nomination for the Provost’s Awards for Exemplary Advising has been extended through Monday, Dec. 2. Nominations/letters of support can be submitted online. Eligible for nomination are full-time faculty members whose primary advising responsibility is advising undergraduate students; and professional academic advisors whose primary and current job responsibility is assigned to the academic advisement of undergraduate students.
