    DID YOU KNOW?

The University of Louisville used to host a “Turtle Derby” every year to coincide with the Kentucky Derby. The event featured turtles (with numbers painted on their shells) “racing” to get outside of a circle. According to an article in the Courier-Journal, available in UofL’s Archives and Special Collections’ reference file, the Fourth Annual Turtle Derby was held on April 21, 1983 in Bigelow Hall.
