LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nominations are open for the third annual Brown-Forman Family Business Leadership Awards, sponsored by the University of Louisville’s Family Business Center and Brown-Forman Corporation.
The award recognizes an individual whose family business has multiple generations working in it and whose headquarters is in the greater Louisville-southern Indiana region. The winner will be chosen on the basis of exemplary leadership, family unity and civic engagement in the family business community.
Past recipients were:
- 2015: John A. Zoeller, president of the Zoeller Company, a manufacturer/installer of water pumps, and
- 2014: Mac Brown, past vice president of Brown-Forman.
Louisville-based Brown-Forman, one of the largest American-owned spirits and wine companies, is a publicly traded, family-controlled company that employs 4,000 people worldwide. It was founded in 1870 by Mac Brown’s great-grandfather, George Garvin Brown.
The deadline for nominations is Aug. 1. The award will be given out Nov. 9 at the annual Family Business Center summit.
