DID YOU KNOW UofL’s Student Parent Association has been an official RSO since April 2011. The group’s objectives are to promote the academic success of student-parents, offer support and resources to parents who are pursuing a degree, and help student-parents learn to balance their personal, social, academic and professional lives.
FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES On November 12, Jeffrey M. Bumpous, MD, Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Communicative Disorders was elected President-Elect of the Association of Academic Departments of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He will assume the role of president in November 2018.

CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS Miscellaneous Traffic and TARC detours during Confederate monument removal/street closuresFrom 7 p.m. Nov. 18 through at least Nov. 23, 2nd and 3rd streets between Eastern Parkway and Cardinal Boulevard will be closed as crews remove the Confederate monument near Freedom Park. During this time, a barricade will be located at Eastern Parkway and 3rd Street, though there will still be access to the Grawemeyer Hall parking lot and other lots in the Oval from the south. Cars exiting the Oval will be allowed to make a left turn only, as no traffic will be permitted between the Oval and Cardinal Boulevard. For those who rely on TARC transportation, Route 94 will be available with a stop by University Pointe, at 4th Street and Brandeis Avenue. Web-based timesheet information sessions scheduledBusiness Operations invites all current hourly employees to an information session to learn about a new web-based timesheet. Sessions for existing hourly employees begin Monday, November 21. For a full list of session dates, times and locations visit Business Operations. Future targeted sessions will be held for those transitioning due to FLSA and supervisors and timekeepers.
