DID YOU KNOW An organization working to help transitioning veterans and military spouses find jobs has announced it will hold office hours at UofL for our veteran students. Where Opportunity Knox, which hopes to connect 10,000 transitioning veterans and military spouses with employers in 26 Kentucky counties in the greater Louisville region by the end of 2017, will hold office hours on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Career Development Center, 2211 S. Brook St.
FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES How often are good public speaking skills confused with passion, leading to bad investment decisions? That’s the question a group of UofL College of Business researchers explored in a study published online in “IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication.” Researchers were professors Jenna Haugen and Kristen Lucas; Sharon A. Kerrick, formerly of UofL and now interim business school dean at Bellarmine; and Cole J. Crider, PhD student.
