DID YOU KNOW A scientist at Georgia Tech has found that Louisville has the fastest growing heat island among the country’s largest cities. More than 100 students from Louisville area schools recently attended a Heat Island Summit sponsored by UofL, Louisville Metro Government and other community partners, where they learned about the growing gap in temperature between the city and outlying areas and how to take action.
FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES Drs. Rodolfo Zamora-Rendich, Lonnie Douglas and Jon Carlson have joined University of Louisville Orthopedics, expanding the practice to seven surgeons, more than doubling its number over the past three years.

Miscellaneous End of Year Gifts due as soon as possibleIf your department receives funds to be deposited into a gift or endowment program, please deliver them to Advancement Services as soon as possible. Please include the envelope with the postmark date and any backup received with the check. This ensures accurate tax year receipting to the donor along with crediting the appropriate program. The first week after the break we ask that all gift funds be hand delivered to our office.
