DID YOU KNOW
The UofL Sustainability Council modeled Green Threads after the Ponderosa Project at Northern Arizona University and the Piedmont Project at Emory University. Its aim is to infuse sustainability across the curriculum in existing or newly created courses focused on sustainability. Since its launch in 2009, more than 50 faculty from 30 departments have participated in the workshop, which is April 21 this year.

Amy Holthouser, MD, and Stacie Steinbock were honored by Louisville Business First as “Best Innovators” for their work in educating future physicians regarding the best care for LGBTQ patients at the 2017 Health Care Hero Awards. Holthouser, associate dean for medical education at UofL’s School of Medicine, and Steinbock, director of the UofL LGBT Center Office at the HSC, received the award for their work in launching the eQuality Project.

Nominate students for Mortar Board Honorary; assistant advisor sought

Faculty/staff are invited to nominate undergraduates to apply to Mortar Board Nat’l Senior Honorary, celebrating UofL excellence in scholarship, leadership and service since 1949. We do muffin handouts at midterm/exam time, an Academic Hall of Fame, and graduation flower sales among other activities. A GPA of 3.3 and 65 current credit hours are required. The Paul Weber Award for Departmental Excellence in Teaching seeks to foster and sustain a university-wide culture of teaching excellence by recognizing departments that demonstrate best practices in teaching and learning. Lab Safety and Hazardous Waste training with Radiation Safety Orientation

Employees who work with chemicals should attend the Lab Safety/Hazardous Waste training. Recurrent training for employees is required every three years and may be completed in BioRAFT. Individuals who work with radioactive materials should attend the Radiation Safety Orientation session, which is from 11:15 a.m. to noon. Bring employee/student ID number to sign in.
