LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville Board of Trustees yesterday confirmed Josh Hawkins as assistant vice president for alumni relations and annual giving.
Hawkins has served the dual role of chief operating officer and interim assistant vice president for the department since November, 2015.
On staff since 2010, Hawkins was instrumental in the merger of the annual giving program with the office of alumni relations in 2013. That move improved efficiency and paved the way for new programs.
Improvements under Hawkins include staff development, restructure of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, creation of a revenue-generating sponsorship program, organization of an alumni engagement metric model and an innovative annual giving program.
“My future vision is to sustain our growth through a diverse array of engagement and philanthropic opportunities to service alumni, friends and donors of this great institution,” Hawkins said. “We have the team in place to continue to build upon our current success while strengthening our relationships with internal and external stakeholders.”
Hawkins holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Western Kentucky University, where he started his career in alumni relations. He has held numerous leadership positions within the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), most recently serving on the District III Board of Directors.
“I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful mentors throughout my career,” he said. “I look forward to using that experience to further advance our unit for the community and university.”
