The University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law has started the Estate Planning and Elder Law Program. Led by Professor Goldburn P. Maynard Jr., the program helps to connect students, professionals and members of the community in confronting important issues of succession, long-term care and end-of-life planning.

Kimberly A. Boland, MD, an assistant dean of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, has been selected to the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program’s 2017-18 class. ELAM is a year-long fellowship that provides leadership training for women faculty in schools of medicine, dentistry and public health.

The mobile mammography van is coming to the Belknap Campus. Women must be 40 or over, and not had a mammogram within the past year. Insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid will be billed. UofL Insurance will cover 100 percent.

Performance by NightBreeze to raise money for scholarship
May 6, 8 p.m. to midnight, University Ballroom
NightBreeze will play in the University Ballroom to raise money for the new Gloria Jean Churchill Scholarship. The goal is to award one Central High School senior a $1,000 scholarship to attend college. Donations will also be collected for Safe Place, which houses students who cannot return home due to poor circumstances.

April 29 parking restrictions, road closures set for Derby Marathon
Many streets will be closed and parking prohibited near UofL Saturday, April 29, for the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and Mini-Marathon. Streets to be closed from early morning through late afternoon include Third Street from Central Avenue to Broadway, Fourth Street from Broadway to Oakdale Avenue and Broadway from Baxter Avenue to Third Street. Parking along the route will be prohibited from midnight Friday through 4 p.m. Saturday. More information is available online.
