DID YOU KNOW
The UofL Police Department has relied on a number of sources for its Body Worn Camera project. The department was given access to LMPD’s initial testing and evaluation of BWC products. LMPD also allowed UofL police to sit in on all of their RFP presentations for both BWC and video management software and/or potential storage solutions. UofL also received advice from other state agencies and the University’s Criminal Justice Department and SPI. Dr. Bradley Campbell, from the Criminal Justice Department, provided key insight into storage and retention of video evidence.
FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES
The UofL Alcohol Research Center was well represented at a recent Gordon Conference on Alcohol-Induced End Organ Diseases. Dr. Gavin Arteel, Pharmacology & Toxicology, chaired a session on Immunologic Mechanisms; Dr. Irina Kirpich, GI, presented a poster on Lipid Metabolites and Liver Injury; and Dr. Craig McClain, GI, gave the state-of-the-art talk, “Alcohol-Fat Interactions in the Development/Treatment of Alcoholic Liver Disease.”
