    UofL’s Jimmy Henderson, director of Special Programs, Natalie Henderson, MD, assistant professor of Pediatric Critical Care, and Lindsay Wehr, director of Advancement Communication, are among the 44 emerging leaders selected for the Leadership Louisville Center’s Ignite Louisville Class of Fall 2017. They are part of the 18th class of the award-winning program.

    Astronomy Day Celebration
    May 20, 1 p.m.-5 p.m., Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium, $5 special rate for public shows 1, 2 and 3 p.m.; free presentation 4 p.m.
    Get ready to blast off into all things solar this Astronomy Day. The Louisville Astronomical Society will have solar telescopes in the courtyard (weather permitting). Public shows will be just $5/person (members are free) and the day ends with a free presentation on The Great American Eclipse at 4 PM. Solar eclipse viewing glasses will be on sale for just $2/pair (usually $3) and a pair of binoculars and star gazing guide will be given away.

    “You’ve Got the Write One” Summer Enrichment Camp
    July 17, 9 a.m.-2:45 p.m., Porter Building, Belknap Campus, $81 for UofL faculty, staff and students, $90 for the public
    The College of Education and Human Development is offering a one-week summer enrichment camp from July 17-21 for students entering 4th – 8th grade. This is an interdisciplinary camp led by experienced teachers and CEHD pre-service teachers.

    Subscribe today for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) deliveries at HSC
    UofL is hosting a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) pick-up at HSC for those seeking to invest directly in a local, chemical-free, seventh generation family farm and to enjoy a share of the harvest. Subscribers get a weekly (or biweekly) delivery of fresh, sustainably-grown produce from May through October. 12-week Summer Shares & 10-week Fall Shares are also available. Shares cost about $26/week (for 7-10 items). The pick-up time is Tuesdays 2-6:30pm (May 30 – Oct. 31) at MedCenter One.

Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that draws from disciplines of the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. Every class offers a unique combination of 52 moves that corresponds with the main areas of the body: the base, the core and upper extremities.
