Sustainability Green Tip: We are smog. We are traffic. We are the solution. When we burn fossil fuels on hot, sunny days, we get smog. Louisville has already had several Air Quality Alert days. You can act to make Louisville better and be part of the solution by using TARC (free with UofL ID), carpooling, walking or biking. Explore all of your options on one map and setup carpools with Cardinal Directions. If you must drive, save gas and pollution by not idling more than 40 seconds. Gas lawn mowers pollute even more, so swap your mower and “Grow More, Mow Less.”

Grill green on a Meatless MondayYou’ve probably heard that gorging on meat filled with hormones and antibiotics is not good for your health. Or, that you can save a lot of carbon emissions by going meatless at least one day a week. Then there are the land sustainability and the water security issues. Throwing a barbecued fruit-and-veggie party is not only fun and inventive; it could help solve some issues.
