Sustainability Green Tip: Travel smart, fly lessFlying causes 5 to 10 times more pollution per passenger-mile than ground-based options. It now accounts for 8 percent of UofL’s total carbon footprint. Consider greener options: video- or teleconference; carpool; or take the train or bus (Megabus, Miller and Greyhound all serve Louisville). If you must fly, offset your emissions through a service such as Native Energy, CarbonFund, or TerraPass. Set up carpools with Cardinal Directions. More information about alternatives to flying and carbon offsetting is available online.
