The new Cardinals register for classes, learn about on campus services and have some fun too. Radio Show Monday, June 26: The number of hip and knee replacements has skyrocketed in recent years. UofL’s Dr. Art Malkani is a surgeon who specializes in joint replacements and doing research on them. Tim Dowling is an astronomy professor who follows discoveries in space and talks about the upcoming solar eclipse. Tuesday, June 27: Jason Naylor is an atmospheric science professor and former storm chaser who is an expert on violent weather. Paul Himes and Deborah Yoder-Himes are biology professors studying antibiotic resistant bacteria in local water sources. META CT is a company that grew out of UofL’s entrepreneurship MBA program. Miscellaneous Street closures planned on Preston Street downtownIn order to tie in a sanity sewer line, Preston Street will be closed on the weekends of June 25-25, July 1-2, July 8-9 and, if needed, July 15-16. Parking will not be available on Preston Street on these weekends, and vehicular traffic will not be able to pass from Muhammad Ali to Chestnut on Preston. All city-required signage and barricades will be in place on the surrounding streets and pedestrians will have normal access.

Room reservations in the Shumaker Research BuildingEffective June 27, all reservations for rooms in the Shumaker Research Building should be made via the 25Live Online System. NSF.gov, FastLane, Research.gov unavailable June 30-July 4NSF is moving its Data Center to the Foundation’s new headquarters to prepare for NSF staff relocation in August. NSF websites, FastLane and Research.gov will be unavailable from 8 p.m. June 30 through 6 p.m. July 4 EDT. During this period there will be no access to these websites, proposals cannot be submitted in FastLane and project reports and cash requests cannot be submitted in Research.gov. Previously saved information and uploaded documents in FastLane and Research.gov, including in-process proposals and reports, will be accessible after the Data Center move.
