A University of Louisville scientist is hoping to make big changes with tiny objects. J.B. Speed School of Engineering professor Cindy Harnett is conducting research on how to help improve the lives of determined athletes and injured patients using small sensors.
Harnett, an electrical and computer engineering professor at UofL, is working with sensors and “actuator materials” to improve athletic performance and physical therapy recovery after an injury. She is also doing research with “a membrane with nanopores that can move fluids,” that might allow one the ability to move prosthetic limbs more easily.
