Saturday will mark the seventh year that UofL medical students will participate in Medals4Mettle, in which student runners present their Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon medals to kids with cancer and blood diseases who are patients in the UofL Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.

1.) Marathon/miniMarathon street closures announced
April 25
Some of the streets around UofL may be closed due to Saturday’s Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon. Those who have to be on campus, please be aware that you may have to take a different route on Saturday and may need more travel time. The races start at Main and Brook streets, make their way to Churchill Downs, and finish at Preston Street and River Road. Click here for turn-by-turn route details. 2.) Take 20 and learn the latest trends in mind-body fitness fusion, Intro to Nia

Nia is a fusion of the dance arts, martial arts and healing arts to give you a mind-body experience that conditions the whole body and gives you a sense of greater well-being. 3.) Windows 8.1 @ IE 11 testing
Information Technology has completed testing for Windows 8.1 & IE11. Windows 8.1 was tested with all major applications including Office 2013 & Adobe X. Results of testing showed no issues or loss of functionality with any applications commonly used in the university environment. IE11 was tested with PeopleSoft, Mysoft & Blackboard and found no issues, but Blackboard has not certified IE11 as a supported browser at this time. Plone will continue to utilize Firefox as the supported web browser.
