The Honors Student Council raised $13,335.68 through its annual Book and Media Sale and other events throughout the year. Money raised this year goes toward the Americana Community Center to help develop summer programming. Americana serves immigrant, refugee and low-income populations in Louisville.
FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES
Tiffany Dillard-Knox, coordinator of UofL’s Malcolm X Debate Team, was named Scholar of the Year by the Cross Examination Debate Association Southeast Region. The team dedicated their successful season to “The Year of Savannah,” honoring the late Savannah Walker, a debate team member who was killed in March 2017 when struck by a stray bullet at a concert.

UofL, Foundation file suit against Ramsey, former administrators
The University of Louisville and the University of Louisville Foundation filed suit Wednesday against former President James Ramsey and other former Foundation officials alleging breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent appropriations and improper diversion of funds for personal gain. Read more here.
The second annual Derby City Gala with Night Breeze featuring Julie Bee
May 5, 8:30 p.m., U Club
Join Night Breeze featuring UofL employee Julie Bee and DJ Gerald “G-Man” Harrison on May 5 at 8:30 p.m. at the U Club. Early bird tickets are $65 and include food and music. A cash bar will also be available. Proceeds go toward a scholarship for a high school student.

The Wellarama consists of over 30 interactive booths showcasing many of the valuable health and wellness resources available for UofL employees, retirees, spouses/QA and affiliated campus partners. Employees can use their 30-minute SLV wellness break to participate.
