UofL’s College of Arts & Science’s International, Diversity, and Engagement Programs will host an economic development forum on Aug. 26 at the Muhammad Ali Center, with a focus on what west Louisville needs, how to finance projects and ways to turn community vision into reality. 4.) Poster session of summer undergraduate research scheduled
Aug. 3, noon-3 p.m., Kosair Charities CTRB Lobby, HSC
Undergraduate students will present the results from their 10-week summer research experience. Participants in the Cancer Education R25, IMPACT REU, KBRIN, Physiology Cardiovascular, SROP, Cancer Center High School students, and students supported by External Fellowship, will present.

5.) Library room reservations are now streamlined
In an effort to provide better service to our users, the Libraries have adopted a new room scheduling system, LibCal, so you can make room reservations for any room in Ekstrom Library, the Art Library or the Music Library from a single web page. Check it out online.

6.) Shakespeare and Art Exhibit opens
Aug. 1 through Oct. 24, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Bridwell Art Library, Schneider Hall, Louisville; Free
Come see photos, paintings and graphic art from the 19th Century capturing Shakespeare in architecture, costume, painting and typography. This exhibit showcases Shakespeare Rare Print Collection, by Seymour Eaton, printed in 1900. Learn how clothing indicated class rank, and how paintings and prints popularized plays. See theatrical broadsides that broke contemporary typographic “rules” by using fonts of wildly different sizes.

Abstractions due Aug. 31. Event is October 11-14, Kosair Charities Clinical and Translational Research Building, Health Sciences Center
Faculty, post-docs, research associates, residents, clinical fellows, research staff, PharmDs, graduate and professional students are invited to submit an abstract on their life science research for a poster presentation at Research!Louisville. Abstract submissions are due by Aug. 31. Submit an abstract online.

10.) Green Tip: Earn-A-Bike application deadline Aug. 10
Why drive when you can Earn-A-Bike? All staff, faculty & students willing to forgo a UofL parking permit for the next two years are eligible to earn a $400 bike shop voucher. 2016 applications are due August 10. In addition bike commuting, participants can ride any TARC bus free with UofL ID or find carpools through the new Cardinal Directions service. While on campus, you can borrow wheels with UofL Bike-Share and UofL Car-Share.
