    Did You Know?

    The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) has introduced six new all-electric buses to Route 4, which serves the Belknap campus. This addition makes TARC the second largest electric bus operator in the U.S. Anyone with a UofL ID can ride a TARC bus for free.

    5.) Brandeis School of Law honor oath signing features U.S. district judge

    Aug. 11, 5 p.m., Bigelow Hall, MITC

    Judge Charles M. Simpson II, senior United States district judge for the Western District of Kentucky, will administer the honor oath to incoming law students, marking their entry into the legal profession.

    7.) Webinar scheduled on regulatory/operational challenges of biorepositories

    August 9, 2-3 p.m., Room 124, Clinical & Translational Research Bldg., HSC; Free

    More research includes the use of biorepositories, however the creation and use of biorepositories can pose regulatory and operational challenges, especially in the face of a possibly changing regulatory landscape. This webinar will address repository models, repository management considerations, regulatory considerations (HHS, FDA, HIPAA), informed consent, and potential implications from the Common Rule Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM).

    8.) Lab Safety/Hazardous Waste and Radiation Safety Training available

    Recently hired lab employees who work with chemicals should attend the lab safety/hazardous waste session. Individuals who will begin working with or around radioactive materials should attend the radiation safety orientation session, which starts immediately after lab safety.     Beyond simply decreasing your stress, this evidence-based KORU workshop will help you learn skills to find more satisfaction in your daily life. If you are feeling pressured and stressed, or are just interested in learning a new skill that can enrich your life, these classes are for you. Beginners and experienced meditators welcome.
