    1.) Reserve a table for PINK 2015

    Event March 27, 8 p.m., SAC Multipurpose Room

    PINK 2015 is almost here, and it’s time to start making your plans to join us! There’s only ONE way to reserve a seat ahead of time for PINK and that’s by reserving a VIP table. The tables are $200 and accommodate up to 10 guests. Now in its 18th year, PINK holds the record as the longest-running student-organized fundraiser on campus. Proceeds from PINK will help defray the costs of the LGBT Center’s civil rights immersion tour.

    2.) Engaged Scholarship in Action series continues with violence prevention discussion

    Feb. 13, 12:30 to 2 p.m., Miller Information Technology Center, Room 201

    Free

    Sponsored by the Office of the Provost, a panel discussion titled “Engaging Metro Louisville for Violence Prevention” will be the third program in the Engaged Scholarship in Action series. The discussion features brief presentations about community-engaged work on the topic, followed by conversation on how interdisciplinary efforts might lead to more effective collaborations and positive community outcomes. Light lunch served. Panelists: Anthony Smith (Metro Louisville Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods), Monica Wendel (SPHIS), Jason Immekus (Ed), and more TBA.     Yana Weinstein, PhD, is an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Massachusetts – Lowell. Weinstein is an expert in the field of memory research, with an emphasis on enhancing learning and memory in real-world classroom settings. In 2011, Dr. Weinstein was named a Rising Star by the Association for Psychological Science.
