1.) Get Healthy Now Inclement Weather Policy
Keeping our members and employees safe is of utmost importance to Get Healthy Now. During the course of the year, the University of Louisville may decide to close campus or operate on a delayed schedule in cases of inclement weather. When the University of Louisville offices are closed, the Get Healthy Now Wellness Center will be closed as well. Regular hours of operation will begin when the closure is lifted.

2.) We put the “Fun” in Functional Fitness
Saturdays 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Get Healthy Now Wellness Center, Humana Gym
Free for GHN Wellness Center members
This class focuses on core fitness that can easily translate into daily activities. It incorporates all of the major muscle groups as well as the muscles you never knew you had. You will get efficient, quality, functional movements that will enhance and nourish your spine, revitalize your postural muscles, and strengthen your core with every movement. Exercises are shown at different skill levels so each person can work to their own individual competency.

3.) Nominations open for Gold Standard for Optimal Aging Award
through Feb. 1
The Institute for Sustainable Health & Optimal Aging at the University of Louisville is seeking nominations for the 2016 Gold Standard for Optimal Aging Award. Nominations for this annual award are open now through Feb. 1, 2016. The Gold Standard for Optimal Aging Award celebrates and honors older adults who embody the Institute’s vision for a world where all older adults lead engaged and flourishing lives. 5.) Dept. of Medicine issues updated NIH spreadsheets with new GRA fringe rate
The UofL Department of Medicine has revised its NIH R01 and R03/R21 budget spreadsheets to include the new NIH salary cap, and has posted them at http://louisville.edu/medicine/departments/medicine/research/policies-procedures.

6.) Employee discounts available to earn project management certificate
Earn your project management certificate from UofL Professional Development. This two-seminar program is based on the processes and knowledge areas in the Project Management Institute’s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge. A limited number of spaces in the first and second seminars are available at a 25% discount for UofL employees. Classes begin February 11.
