Louisville is No. 2 in The Associated Press women’s basketball poll for the first time in school history. The Cardinals moved up one spot after routing then-No. 2 Notre Dame 100-67 last Thursday to remain unbeaten. It’s the first time that Louisville has been this high in the poll since first getting ranked in 2006.

Presidential Search forums scheduled today, Thursday
The UofL Trustees have set up a website in support of the search for UofL’s next president. The site, which includes both a nomination form and a feedback form, is at: http://louisville.edu/presidential-search. Presidential search open forums will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, noon to 2 p.m. at the HSC Auditorium, Kornhauser Library, and 6-8 p.m. at the University Club Ballroom; and Thursday, Jan. 18, 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the University Club Ballroom. The open forums will be live streamed at the following address: http://uofl.me/UL-Video.
Graduate student call for abstracts, deadline this Friday, Jan 19
Graduate students are invited to present their research at the Graduate Student Regional Research Conference at the University of Louisville happening March 2-3, 2018. The conference theme is “Thriving In and Beyond Graduate School.” The abstract deadline is this Friday, Jan 19 at 11:59 p.m. for students who wish to present an oral talk or poster presentation.

Deadline Friday: Funding Opportunity- UofL I-Corps Site Funding

Deadline for I-Corps program has been extended. The UofL-NSF I-Corps Site program can help you with the discovery and commercialization of STEM innovations. Inventors and researchers partner with entrepreneurial mentors to develop a strategy to get innovative products to market. Awards are up to $2,500 per team. The program is open to all UofL faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Applications are due by January 19, 2018.

Attend this meditation group to reinforce your desire to practice meditation and to help you to expand your skills. Medicine Grand Rounds features Karim A. El-Kersh, MD, assistant professor of Medicine and Director, Pulmonary Hypertension Program at UofL. Dr. El-Kersh will present “The Nuts and Bolts of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)” focusing on reviewing the updated classification of pulmonary hypertension, understanding PAH pathophysiology, and learning a step-wise approach for PAH diagnosis and treatment.
