1.) Gray Street: Tomato pies, bitter melon and ice cold water
Thursdays through Oct. 29, rain or shine, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 400 block of East Gray Street
Some items available today will include: Raspberries, corn, green beans, squash, tomatoes, onions, tomato pies, bitter melon, cucumbers, sunflowers, chicken, beef, pork, eggs, whole-grain bread, baked goods, local honey, maple syrup, homemade lotions and soaps. Lunch trucks: Red Top Gourmet Hot Dogs and Sweet ‘N’ Savory (crepes, smoothies, gelato, frozen coffee). Get Healthy Now will be on hand for a special cooking demonstration and Louisville Pure Tap has free ice-cold water (cups available or bring your own refillable containers).

2.) Belknap: GHN cooking demonstration
Thursdays through Oct. 15, rain or shine, 3:30 to 6 p.m., 3rd and Brandeis next to the Ville Grill.
Some items available today will include: Fruits and veggies, homemade breads, lamb, chicken, eggs, pork. Also, toxin-free home and personal-use products. Today’s musician: Stuart Wicke. Get Healthy Now will be on hand for a special cooking demonstration. Next week: On July 23, duPont Manual student Ryan DeLaney will be collecting new and used children’s books (or cash donations to purchase books) at the market to benefit Cochran Elementary School. In exchange, Ryan will give juggling lessons!

3.) IT HelpDesk improvements coming this fall
Information Technology is adopting a new service management tool this fall to enhance the delivery and administration of our technology services. Change will begin October 1 with IT’s HelpDesk and improve how our support specialists provide assistance to everyone at UofL. Additionally, our digital interactions (web, emails, service forms, automated tickets) will have a new contemporary look. 5.) Sign up now for the 15th Annual Geriatric Health Care Symposium
Sept. 18, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Shelby Campus, Founders Union
Registration is open for 2015 symposium, Maximizing Independence for Optimal Aging.” This multidisciplinary symposium is geared to anyone interested in providing care for elders. Homecoming is coming! This year’s parade is set for Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. and the Homecoming game is Oct. 24 when UofL plays Boston College (time TBA). This Friday, please join us for a pediatric grand rounds featuring Bryan Carter, PhD and John Gallehr, MD. Gallehr is assistant professor of child and adolescent psychiatry and Carter is professor of child psychiatry and psychology as well as training director of the postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at UofL. They will be presenting “Getting the Most Out of Your Ped Pscyh Consult.”
