1.) Streets near Belknap to close July 23 for 5K run
July 23, 6:30- 10 p.m.
Some streets near Belknap Campus will be closed, or have their traffic diverted, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 for the 2015 Lunar 5K run. Some adjacent streets also will be affected by this event. Streets affected include Floyd Street from Central Avenue to Cardinal Boulevard; Cardinal from Floyd to Third Street; Third from Cardinal to Eastern Parkway; and Eastern from Third to Crittenden Drive.
2.) Cards Under the Stars to conclude with ‘Inside Out’ on Friday
July 22, 6:30 p.m., on the lawn between the Natural Sciences Building and Grawemeyer Hall, movie begins at dusk; Free admission
Cards Under the Stars featuring “Inside Out” is Friday, July 22. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs and a cooler or purchase concessions onsite food trucks 502 Café and SnoWhat Snoballs. Activities include inflatables, crafts, and appearance by the Louisville League of Mascots. Cards under the Stars is sponsored by Commonwealth Credit Union.

3.) Volunteers Still Needed for Welcome Week 2016
First Year Initiatives and campus partners will welcome new and returning students to campus with Welcome Week 2016, Aug. 17-21. It’s a team effort to make these events the best they can be and we need your help. If you’re interested in volunteering, please fill out the form. The form includes details (where and when, length of shift, specific volunteer duties, etc.) For a complete schedule of events, click here.

4.) Campus Housing Offering Staff and Faculty Tours
July 28, 8:30am-12:45pm or 1:00pm-5:00pm; July 29, 8:30am-12:45pm or 1:00pm-5:00pm, Stevenson Hall Lobby, Belknap
Campus Housing will be offering tours of the upper class Affiliate Housing & Off-Campus Housing Apartment Complexes for all faculty and staff. Take the tour to see the communities that your students are living, where they experience state-of-the-art amenities, spacious floor plans, and an experience that compliments their college lifestyle. There are two different tour times on two different days. Space is limited on each tour.

5.) Join one of four new Faculty Learning Communities
The Teaching Innovation Learning Lab (TILL) is pleased to introduce four new faculty learning communities (FLCs): Exploration of Active Learning Spaces and Pedagogies, Adaptive Learning, Fostering Innovation and Creativity in the Classroom, and Enhancing Learning with Technology. Each yearlong FLC brings together a cohort of faculty to embrace a unique topic. The deadline to apply is Friday, August 26.
