Since the Peace Corps started in 1961, 217 UofL graduates have served as volunteers. Nine UofL grads are currently serving, including Christy Eubank, who received a master’s degree in communications in 2013 and recently departed to teach English in Cambodia.

Campus-Submitted Announcements
1.) Construction update: Warnock, Brandeis closures to continue Aug. 3-7
Warnock Avenue will continue to be open westbound only from Arthur Street to Floyd Street and closed from Floyd to Brook Street Aug. 3-7 as part of construction projects on the east side of Belknap Campus. Brandeis Avenue also will be closed from Brook to Floyd. For more information, visit the construction website.
2.) Speed Museum/Strickler drive lane closed today
The drive lane between the Speed Museum Garage and Strickler Hall will be closed on Friday, July 31 due to construction work. The area will have additional construction for 2-3 days but the drive lane will be available. The Speed Museum Garage will be available during this time. Please use caution in this area.

The Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC) announced the Kentucky Commercialization Fund (COMM-017) is available to help commercialize the technologies developed at Kentucky universities. This is an individual award not to exceed $75,000 per year and a mandatory pre-proposal must be submitted. UofL and KSTC are hosting a free informational session at the JD Nichols Campus for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Refreshments will be served; please RSVP.
