Miscellaneous
1.) City Café closing pushed back
The City Café location at the Health Sciences Center, scheduled to close by July 1, will remain open a little longer. UofL and City Café have agreed to a contract that will keep the restaurant open until July 31 or until construction begins on Au Bon Pain Bakery and Café in that same space. The university is awaiting issuance of a construction permit. Once the permit is obtained, the university will provide five days’ notice to City Café, which will then close. Au Bon Pain is expected to be open for business in early Fall 2016.

Sustainability
4.) Green Tip: Travel Smart, Fly Less
Summer travel season is here, but there are ways to get there without destroying our planet. Flying causes 5 to 10 times more pollution per passenger-mile than ground-based options. It accounts for 5.5 percent of UofL’s total carbon footprint. Consider greener, less sardine-like options: video- or teleconference; carpool; take the train or bus (Megabus, Miller and Greyhound all serve Louisville). If you must fly, offset your emissions by investing in local forests through the Appalachian Carbon Partnership.
Additional Information: Cardinal Directions to set up carpools and explore options; Appalachian Carbon Partnership; details on alternatives to flying
