Cardinal Tennis Camps scheduled
June 19-July 25, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., UofL Bass-Rudd Tennis Center; $350/week
The University of Louisville offers young tennis players a high quality opportunity to come to a college campus to learn, improve, make new friends and have fun. Each camper is instructed for at least 6 hours per day in a very positive way by experienced coaches who know and play the game at the top level. Coach Rex Ecarma invites juniors aged 7 to 18 to his Cardinal Tennis Camps. Children of UofL staff receive a discount on the camp fee. There are three camps this summer. Overnight camp is available.

The Gray Street Farmers Market is open every Thursday through Oct. 26, rain or shine. Some items available today include: strawberries, spinach, asparagus, greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, honey, maple syrup, jams, eggs, baked goods, canned items, and kettle corn. LGBT Center invites community to march in Pride Parade
June 16, 6-9 p.m., corner of Floyd and Market streets, downtown Louisville
The LGBT Center invites the UofL community to march in the Kentuckiana Pride Parade on Friday, June 16. As the LGBT Center marks its 10th year anniversary, it is hoping to have UofL’s largest parade contingency ever. Brian Buford, the center’s executive director, has been named the 2017 Kentuckiana Pride Parade grand marshal. Wear UofL gear or colors and celebrate 10 years of pride.

Open Walls submission deadline is Friday

The annual show for faculty and staff will run from June 12 through June 29 in the Photographic Archives gallery, part of Archives & Special Collections, in the Ekstrom Library. The exhibit is an opportunity for UofL employees who are not professional or exhibited artists to share their work. Employee visual artists who want to participate should submit the registration form via email by 5 p.m. June 2, 2017. Click here for the form. Past Open Walls participants are encouraged to exhibit; please enter artwork that is new to Open Walls.

Carnosine for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Study
The UofL Health Sciences Center is seeking PAD patients between age 50-80 with and without claudication to determine whether Carnosine/Placebo supplementation for 6 months improves walking ability. The study has been approved by UofL IRB (#16.0047). Principal Investigators are Shahid Baba,PhD/ Amit Dwivedi, MD.

Infant scientists wanted

The UofL Infant Cognition Lab (Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences) is conducting several studies on infant face perception. Infants who are between 3 and 8 months old with normal vision and hearing are invited to participate. Participation involves one brief visit to campus. Orthopaedic Surgery Grand Rounds

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery invites you to attend Fischer-Owen Resident Research Day. The guest judge is Bernard F. Morrey, MD, who holds the academic rank of Professor of Orthopedics at both Mayo and at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. The presentations will be followed by a lecture from Morrey titled, “Prosthetic Replacement as a Salvage for Elbow Trauma.” Case presentations by the residents will close out the day.
