    1.) Speed entrance, Third Street parking lot closings delayed to July 1

    The Eastern Parkway entrance to the parking lots behind J.B. Speed School of Engineering and the Third Street “green” parking lot will remain open until July 1. The two areas on the south end of Belknap Campus were scheduled to be closed June 1.     2.) Webinar: ‘What’s New at the NIH? Requirements to Address Rigor and Reproducibility in Research Grant Applications’

    June 22, 2 p.m., Room 124, Clinical &Translational Research Bldg.; Free

    After this webinar you will understand revisions to NIH proposal content requirements and peer review criteria to include assessment of rigor and reproducibility in research. You will also become familiar with diverse resources available to help investigators meet new requirements to address key aspects of rigor and reproducibility in grant applications.

    3.) Action required for faculty using SoftChalk for lessons created prior to March 17, 2016

    On Thursday, March 17, 2016 SoftChalk released two fixes to address a javascript error – a Cloud update and an update to SoftChalk Create 9.02.09. If you created your lessons prior to March 17, 2016 with SoftChalk Create 9 your lessons will need to be re-saved and re-published to keep them from generating a javascript error message (seen above) in the activities you placed inside your lessons. Switch to SoftChalk Cloud.

    4.) PLAN hosting workshop for grad students on creating an online portfolio

    June 22, 2-4 p.m., Room W103, Ekstrom Library, Belknap Campus

    What is your web presence like? Do you have a professional online presence? If you are going on the job market, the answer to these questions could set you apart from other applicants. This workshop will cover why you should develop an online portfolio, what information should be included, and how even the busy or technologically-challenged can build an online presence starting today. Grad students interested in attending can register and find more info on the PLAN website.

    5.) Who says Fitness Can’t Be Fun? Functional Fitness available

    Saturdays, 9:30-10:15 a.m., Get Healthy Now Wellness Center, Humana Gym;

    Free for GHN Wellness Center members

    This class focuses on core fitness that can easily translate into daily activities and incorporates all of the major muscle groups as well as the muscles you never knew you had. You will get efficient quality functional movements that will enhance and nourish your spine, revitalize your postural muscles and strengthen your core with every movement. Suitable for all levels so each person can work to their own individual competency.

    6.) Kick it up a notch with Get Healthy Now’s Cardio Kick & Sculpt

    Fridays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Get Healthy Now Wellness Center at Humana Gym; Free for GHN Wellness Center members

    Join GHN for an action-packed workout that improves strength, muscle tone, endurance, and help you stick to your fitness goals and include interval training exercises that will have you shredding calories. All moves are modified based on fitness level.
